The Spine took the place of "John Henry" in my favorites poll
mrhorrible - July 9, 2004 08:28 AM (GMT)
I still think Flood is their most 'complete' album.

I think Lincoln is their greatest album :)
gianthead - July 21, 2004 10:27 AM (GMT)
Lincoln's great: so many favourites!! Most of the songs are terrific, I like You'll Miss Me best though :ph43r:
gianthead - July 21, 2004 10:32 AM (GMT)
I'm surprised that Mink didn't get better ratings: it's a fine piece of work, though more lightweight than some albums I suppose ^_^
gianthead - July 26, 2004 10:24 AM (GMT)
We need more voters, otherwise the poll isn't really representative. ^_^
davew27 - July 28, 2004 09:03 AM (GMT)
i agree
lets go to all the forums we know and tell everybody to visit this one ;)
Guest -Banana - July 30, 2004 11:10 PM (GMT)

gianthead - August 1, 2004 06:22 PM (GMT)

Johnw - August 2, 2004 03:42 PM (GMT)
Great yes, but it's not an album the same way the others are. It's a collection of live songs from the other albums

You have to give them the number when you checkout. They don't seem to keep track of anything but your email address, because I have to fill out everything each time I buy a concert.
occidere - August 14, 2004 04:47 AM (GMT)
yeah that is so cool...
my aun really liked the show... now i am waiting for the mp3s to come out... waiting...
still waiting...
waiting even more now...
gianthead - September 1, 2004 10:34 AM (GMT)
Are you still waiting or is the agony all over now? :D
The Mighty Big Antes - September 29, 2004 11:51 PM (GMT)
I voted John Henry, Flood and Apollo 18 are close behind. Also, a bit of an off-topic question, The Spine is the 10th studio album. If all the albums in the poll count, plus No!, then what exactly is the one that is missing. I'm confused between Miscellaneous T, They Got Lost, and Long Tall Weekend.
mrhorrible - September 30, 2004 08:34 AM (GMT)
I didn't include all the albums, it's just a "out of these which do you prefer?" sort of poll. But I did miss out most compilations etc. I included Factory Showroom on the basis that it was more of a new album than a compilation, but I could be wrong.
So, missing from this poll are No!, Misc T, They Got Lost, Long Tall Weekend, Severe Tire Damage, Then. Maybe it's one of these?
Thressa - October 1, 2004 02:35 AM (GMT)
I've always assumed it was Long Tall Weekend as a studio album
Pink
Lincoln
Flood
Apollo18
John Henry
Factory Showroom
Those are for sure...but then it gets Antsy
Severe Tire Damage - A "live" album though some were remastered in the studio and some were recorded live in the studio
Long Tall Weekend - Internet only. Does it count even though there was no physical CD?
They Got Lost - A compilation of Long Tall Weekend and Working undercover for the man plus some bonus tracks. All the tracks on it were released previously somewhere else (either through unlimited or above mentioned CDs)
Mink Car
No!
The Spine
Those last three I'm sure about
Marshie - October 2, 2004 06:10 PM (GMT)
Oh you people are killing me here. My mouse pointer hovered over John Henry and Lincoln for about 10 minutes before I finally broke down and chose Lincoln. I need to rest now, that was too much torture for my poor little mind.
LoveJohnX2 - October 2, 2004 07:20 PM (GMT)
LOL! Aww..c'mon. Everyone knows John Henry is the best!

*high fives Jen* Right on!
LoveJohnX2 - October 3, 2004 12:47 AM (GMT)
Ya know, looking at the poll results, I feel bad for Mink Car and Factory Showroom. Okay, Mink Car wasn't the best but I atleast expected a few for Factory Showroom. That's a good CD!
Also, I don't know why everyone loves Lincoln soooooooo much. Yeah, it's good..but I think I prefer the pink album better.
gianthead - October 3, 2004 08:24 AM (GMT)
I'm sick of people saying bad stuff about Mink. It's GREAT!!! Do you hear? :D

Well, with me I was weighing how many of my favorite songs were on it, how many songs I skip, and how many good songs were on it.
Pink, of course, has she's an angel and don't lets start, but its also got toddler highway, rabid child and the day (don't hurt me, they're just not the best songs I think they've ever done)
John Henry has Self Called Nowhere (my favorite tmbg song), End of the Tour, and other songs I really like, like Snail Shell, Meet James Ensor, Thermostat (why don't people like that song? I love it!).
Lincoln has Ana Ng, They'll Need a Crane, Kiss me son of God, Where Your Eyes Don't Go (my 2nd fave tmbg song), Purple Toupee, You'll Miss me...the list goes on and on of good song after another.
So, for me pink was some really great songs and some I didn't care for, John Henry was songs I LOVE and a lot I really like, and Lincoln had a ton of songs I love, a few I like and none I don't like. It seriously hurt me to choose between Lincoln and JH! I have nothing against Mink or FS, the ratio of love/like/okay/skip just wasn't quite the same for me. Flood will always have a special place in my heart, but maybe those 10 billion times I played it in the 90's made it lose a tiny bit of effect on me
But, as long as we're all in agreement that tmbg rocks all around then its all good right? :D
Doodles - October 3, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
Couldn't there have been an "all-of-the-above" selection?
On second thought, nevermind. That would have defeated the purpose of the poll, I have a feeling most everyone would have selected that.
Mink Car is indeed an excellent album, but it tends to be a bit too 'pop-ish' for me. It needs a bit more insanity and unusual sampled sounds.
gianthead - October 3, 2004 09:19 PM (GMT)
Do you mean people despise Mink cos it's too smooth and ready-made, like something by an awful boyband? :o
Doodles - October 3, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
Nonononononono. I just mean it's not as crazy as the others, and I don't despise it because of it. It's just...er....different. I love it, but not as much as the others. There's just something about it that I can't exactly put my finger on, but it may be the fact that it came out so late after their last studio album.
Maybe I'm just biased against it because they kept us waiting for so long, I don't know.
