Hello!
I've just stumbled across this forum as I've been listening to the new Venue Songs DVD.
As a little background, I started with my TMBG experience back in spring of 2002, when my friend Rory exposed me to the TMBG disc, they got lost. The song oranges got me, the absurdity of 10 million employees got me. No one tries to be that absurd and be serious. Though that didn't capture me. I loved the song, but wasn't captured by the other songs. I did buy the CD though.
When they came around for a live tour in Minneapolis in 2004, I went, and felt they really were genuine people trying to entertain me, and not just make a buck, and I was immediately in love with their music and style.
In 2005 I couldn't make their free show in Minnesota, so I drove 11 hours through Madison (or Milwaukee?), WI to get 2 more TMBG fans to take them to the show in St. Louis. We all had a good time, though my newly found friends couldn't go on the floor due to the under 21 rule :( . I got to be in the front row the whole time and absolutely loved it. I hope they tour in the midwest again this summer, I'll try to catch 2-3 shows (and bring along anyone that needs a ride!!!). I thoughroughly enjoy the TMBG podcasts and think it's pretty cool tmbg (Linnel) is using new tech even though they've established themselves.
Anyway, I hope to find some new people on here. Looks like a cool forum!
Mike
