Once, for fun, I dialed Dial-a-Song, years ago, and heard "Sensurround". I remembered it very well so that when I actually got a copy of it from the clock radio it sounded very familiar, as if I already knew it well, although I had only heard it once in my life! Is this part of They Might Be Giants charm - that they sound so much like themselves and nothing like anyone else and you only have to hear half a song five years ago for it to be stuck in your head forever?
I felt the same way about the song by Unit Four Plus Two, "Concrete and Clay" which I heard once on a chart show in the 1980s and spent years searching for a copy. And then by some bizarre freak occurrence, it turns out "They Might Be Giants" did a cover of this song too, which makes me wonder if the songs that get stuck in my head are also the songs that get stuck in "They Might Be Giants" heads too.
Does anyone agree/disagree?
Dunno, lots of songs get stuck in my gianthead and echo around for ages  It may be a coincidence about the Concrete and the Clay, TMBG are magic and therefore attract coincidence ^_^
You have just put "Concrete and Clay" in my head.
Now I must obtain a copy.
