(...perhaps this topic would enjoy a better home in the News section...)

It's close enough to me, but I just have the problem of finding time and actually getting there...

It's a gigantic maybe for me, and I'm leaning towards the doubt.

JoyGerhardt - July 17, 2005 12:16 PM (GMT)
I got my tickets just a few days ago. B)

Jen™ - July 17, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
I'm GOING! I'm also having lunch with Corn Mo before the show.

You're having lunch with the future Mr Herring????

I'm not jealous. Not at all. Not even the slightest bit envious. Nope, not me.

LoveJohnX2 - July 20, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
I'm glad you're not jealous 'cause it's gonna be really cool. :P

Herring - July 21, 2005 10:43 AM (GMT)
Go on, rub it in why don't you! :P

When you're having the time of your life with Mr Mo, just spare a thought for us poor unfortunate UK-dwellers who have to wait until October to get our mits on him. And try to drop the word 'herring' into the conversation a few hundred times... :D

Have fun!

JoyGerhardt - July 23, 2005 09:12 PM (GMT)
I have pictures! :D

It was so awesome. It was my first Giants show but it definitely won't be my last! ^_^

mrhorrible - July 23, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
Though the quality of pic is similar to mine :P, I do like that colelction. Shows more of your experience of the show than a glossy hi-res lot would.

Fantastic.

gianthead - July 24, 2005 10:26 AM (GMT)
Nice pics!

Come on JenTM and Woodsie, You must have a few somewhere! B)

mizary - July 24, 2005 03:14 PM (GMT)
I was there... no pics though.

It was a blast... HUGE crowd... But it was odd, I'd say 75% of the people there were there for lebowskifest. Most of them had never seen TMBG... but you wouldn't know by watching the crowd. I think the Johns scored a few hundred new fans friday night.

I wish I could remember a better setlist... but due to the heroic amount of alcohol consumed that evening I'm surprised I can remember anything... I'll try to put it in order... But I'm sure it will be all mixed up...

During the show there was a fireworks display happening nearby... the fireworks finale was happening when they were playing NYC... Specifically "...it was the best night of my life"

Sometimes at a show everything just comes together and the moment is perfect... That was one of those moments.

Did they play “They’ll Need a Crane” ?? I want to say they did… but I can’t remember for sure…

Great show!

The show was amazing. I know I've only been to 6 shows, but this was probably my favorite one so far. I hung out with Corn Mo before the show, I ran into Woodsie (I couldn't believe how big of a coincidence that was), they did jokes about a baby being born on the hill in the very back the whole night, Flans had us start a conga line before "No One Knows My Plan" (which was fantastic) and we bought the Johns a bag of Starbucks coffee and Corn Mo some beer, which he was drinking after the show. I had a sign that said "We love Corn Mo!" on one side and "We love TMB Giants!" on the other that Flans told us to hold up at one point during the show. I was also thanked by Flansburgh when he called me the person doing the rock symbol.

And no, they didn't do They'll Need a Crane.

Hm..pictures. I also think they're my best yet. I'm very happy to show them so I appreciate comments.

Here's the link to the gallery and the picture of Woodsie and I (I had to do it!) is under the "Jen" gallery, if anyone is interested.

Wow... Flansy is so totally different without the glasses

What was Linnell doing just then?

And Corn Mo... I don't really like him, though I may change my mind if I ever get around to listening to his music.

LoveJohnX2 - July 24, 2005 05:44 PM (GMT)
I love Flans without glasses.

Linnell is singing a part right before "Guatamala!" I think.

The first time I saw Corn Mo, I hated his music. Then I got his CD and loved it and I crack up whenever he plays live. Even if you don't like his music, he's the coolest guy.

mrhorrible - July 24, 2005 07:03 PM (GMT)
Love the pic of you and Woodsie. She's secretly going around the world with a list of forum people, crossing them off ...

The TMBG gallery is cool too.

LoveJohnX2 - July 24, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
I mentioned YOU that's how I even found out who she was. She was like "Oh I was right next to him in London"

mizary - July 24, 2005 09:28 PM (GMT)
Oh, the final song was Hocus Pocus, by Focus. Which TMBG did with Corn Mo...

I don't think I'd ever heard the song... but the crowd loved it..

And I just checked and it's not on the Big Lebowski soundtrack... is it in the movie? Have they played it before?

Tell me you are joking. I don't think my fragile ego could cope with that.

They have been doing it for a while, Mizary. Go look at the setlist that I got from the last show I went to (in the Cleveland show topic).

It's amazing but TRUE! Gerry brought us together! We were discussing him on Friday night before the show and realized we both knew him through the same place! The Giants (and mentioning Gerry gets kicked out of Giant's shows) brings people together!
:D

JoyGerhardt - July 24, 2005 11:40 PM (GMT)
I took Mizary's setlist and changed it around and added some songs as I remembered them... Still not exact, but closer I think. :P

Sorry to be picky but didn't he say
"When I was driving once I saw this painted on a..fireworks!" ? Not that it's a big deal, I just think that it replaced bridge.

Why thank you. Yours really aren't bad. You should see the ones from MY first show in Columbus last year. The venue was kinda like the one in Louisville and I was one of the people on the HILL. They were bad.

Oh yeah, and the future of sound is done in the middle of "The Guitar". I only know that because they've done it before at my shows.

The download for this show willbe up TOMORROW!

I'm pumped. They haven't had one of my shows up for downloading since hte very first one I went to. I can't wait.

And since I'm broke (from going to Cleveland) my mom said she'd give me $10 to buy it as long as I cut the grass in the backyard today. Ha. Gotta go work on that..

 mowing the lawn is FUN! I'll just pop over and do for you :D

The download is awesome. I can hear myself in it atleast 3 or 4 times (I listened real closely. Plus, I know what I was screaming at different times. I can't really prove it was me, so you'll just have to believe me.) Also, Flansburgh told me to hold up my "WE LOVE CORN MO!" sign in the middle of the show (which I can prove. I still have the sign I made. Though, he says "The baby made that sign!" to go along with the run on joke through the whole show about a baby that was born there) and at the end while he's thanking people, he thanks "The person holding up the rock symbol right there", which again, I can't really prove, but it WAS me. He pointed to me and my friend, Marcus, was real excited for me.

WORTH $10.00! BUY IT!!

JoyGerhardt - July 30, 2005 09:39 AM (GMT)
Aiee! Time for my first show download, methinks.
