Title: London gig
Description: Anyone going?
Kate - March 18, 2005 07:24 PM (GMT)
Just wondering if anyone else already had their tickets for the London gig?
(26th May, at the Forum, Kentish Town)
Does anyone fancy a bit of a forum meet-up at the Forum? I'd be up for it, if anyone else is going... I'll be the one in the Giants t-shirt with a pathetic grin on my face, bouncing nearish the front with my mum and little bruv... :rocks:
Johnw - March 18, 2005 07:45 PM (GMT)
A TMBG GIG???? :o :rocks: :rocks: :rocks:
Where can I find more info?? NVM - I found it!
Doodles - March 19, 2005 03:30 AM (GMT)
:rocks: Egad. You know I shall demand pictures.
I demand pictures, but I demand them even more in the event there is a forum meet up... How grand that would be. Too bad there's a :censored: ocean in my way.
gianthead - March 19, 2005 09:18 AM (GMT)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
:rocks:  :rocks:  :rocks:  :rocks:  :rocks:  :rocks:
Who's coming? :drink:
We'll have to arrange a proper meet-up, Kate's self-description could be virtually any TMBG fan :D
WOW this looks like fun
detroit skaboy - March 19, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
wow thats even farther then west coast
mrhorrible - March 19, 2005 11:41 PM (GMT)
I believe that both me and JohnW will be there. Possibly also Spy and Gianthead. We must to a UK meetup!
Kate - March 20, 2005 07:09 PM (GMT)
Yay! I went to school quite near the Forum so I'll have to think of a nearby (but not toooooo nearby) pub.
And yeah - we'll have to all wear pink carnations or something (soooooo kidding) :)

*wakes up*
Eh? When did this appear?
Eh? Eh?
*StrayToaster wanders off to peruse the great and wonderful InterWeb.
If this be true, and I can get tickets/babysitters, my good lady and I should be there.
Or, a url, please. While I inform her. Though there is an open bottle of Cava, so coherence amongst us both might be an issue. With me it is most of the time, etcetera etcetera et al inter alia ad nauseum.
mrhorrible - March 20, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
OK. URL
here Naturally we will expect you to grace us with your presence.
StrayToaster - March 20, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
Here, the Mean Fiddler. Is that the old Town and Country Club? I was there quite a few times in the early 90s.
mrhorrible - March 20, 2005 08:49 PM (GMT)
Thats the place. Saw HMHB there once or twice, among other gigs.
StrayToaster - March 20, 2005 08:53 PM (GMT)
Nice! Or, Superclaifragetcetc
Continuing the acryonms, I saw the last ever (two) TFOTN gigs there.

Only if the news was from Whitby and brought by chicks who like candles and erm, their interesting use there of.
mrhorrible - March 20, 2005 09:04 PM (GMT)
Hehe. Well, back on topic, I think we have me, JohnW, Gianthead, Spy, Straytoaster and Kate thus far. Possibly also Counterfeit Faker.

I feel unloved, I wish I coud go.
gianthead - March 21, 2005 04:05 PM (GMT)
Find the Johns and stow away in their luggage disguised as a double bass or something ^_^
Kate - March 21, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
Woo hoo! I'm looking forward to it already... the nights are long and dull in Manchester... ;)
We'll have to think up a collective noun... a "robot parade" of Giants fans?
StrayToaster - March 21, 2005 08:13 PM (GMT)
Surely a veritable Flood of Giants fans?
Or is that when they all descend on the pub before heading to the Town and Country Club?

Johnw - March 22, 2005 04:15 PM (GMT)

mrhorrible - March 22, 2005 04:15 PM (GMT)
There will be pictures of some variety, to be sure.
gianthead - March 22, 2005 08:52 PM (GMT)
*lets out whoops of excitement and grips erratically at camera*
I'm a bit phobic of being photoed, but just this once...
mrhorrible - March 22, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)

Kate - March 22, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)

I suppose I should explain myself. The fact that was a reference to a song was lost on me as I thought of a hippo with a violin going around and insulting people. Then, I remembered it was a song and eye-rolled myself.
Doodles isn't too clever sometimes.
Kate - March 23, 2005 07:57 PM (GMT)
One of my favourite songs... and the one that gets stuck in my head most. It's dead annoying when you are on a bus going into work and all you can think is:
:music: ... one quarter of George Washington's head.... :music:
fingertipsjjddm - March 23, 2005 07:58 PM (GMT)
Ah, I feel a bit less insulted now. Hahaha.
Main-Squeeze - March 27, 2005 02:56 PM (GMT)
I just got my ticket, I was going to wait and see if they were doing any northern dates but they're in Barcelona on the 28th so it might be a one off.
mrhorrible - March 27, 2005 09:19 PM (GMT)
Excellent. Spy, Gianthead, JohnW and myself are fully booked, as I believe Kate is, and probably Straytoaster by now.
Should be a good gig too, no support announced, and show starts at 7?

On the website is said doors at 7, starts at 7, which must be a typo. I wonder what convinced them to come back and do European shows, it's clearly not to promote the new album...Not that I'm complaining! I hope they bring Corn Mo with them!
detroit skaboy - March 30, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
im guessing show times are like here in the states
add about a hour for lateness of the guy opening the doors or the sound guy
fingertipsjjddm - March 30, 2005 04:51 PM (GMT)
Yeah, our doors opened an hour late, and then we still had to wait an hour once we were in
mrhorrible - March 30, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
Particularly for those going to the London gig, (but of course for all) the forum are now offering a range of clothing and other items, logo and design courtesy of Doodles.
Some of us going will be wearing these in place of pink carnations, so we thoroughly encourage you to order any of these delightful items that take your fancy.
You can reach the shop
here, through my signature, or from the link at the top of the forum page.
