Title: Here Come's the ABC's
Description: Favorite Songs?

fingertipsjjddm - February 26, 2005 04:40 PM (GMT)
I love Alphabet Lost and Found, I also love watching the D is for Drums video. I love Marty's many facial expressions.

Doodles - February 26, 2005 05:12 PM (GMT)
This would probably have a better home in the Song section.

While I haven't exactly heard too many ABCs songs, I'd have to say that I kind of like the URNX song, and QU.

fingertipsjjddm - February 27, 2005 04:14 AM (GMT)
Sorry bout the placement. I wasn't sure becuase its songs and movies. The QU movie is great.

The Mighty Big Antes - February 28, 2005 02:57 AM (GMT)
I've only bought the CD and I still like Can You Find It. D Is For Drums and Alphabet Lost and Found are good too.

klimdeeni - February 28, 2005 05:31 AM (GMT)
My favorite Is C is for Conifers.
second would be Can You Find It?

fingertipsjjddm - February 28, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
Yeah. My friends who aren't TMBG fans always get really worried when they call and ask what I'm doing and I go, "Im watching a movie called Here Come's the ABC's." I love scaring them

LoveJohnX2 - March 1, 2005 01:09 AM (GMT)
I got mine today! I haven't listened yet but I DID notice that Henry Linnell is listed in the linear notes as one of the voices on Letter/Not a letter.

AWWWWWWWWW. Ebay child gets a part.

fingertipsjjddm - March 1, 2005 01:58 AM (GMT)
OOOOOOH God. Not this conversation. Anyway. His song is really really cute. He has the perfect little kid voice. Although, i'm thinking. The kid is almost 6. It must have been hard for John to talk him into doing this. The ABC's are just so un cool for 6 year olds. I think i knew mine by the time i was like 3 and 1/2. Oh well. Maybe John bribed him.

Doodles - March 1, 2005 02:21 AM (GMT)
Bribed him with... A SHINY NEW BALL.

LoveJohnX2 - March 1, 2005 02:49 AM (GMT)
I highly doubt that little kids care about being "cool" at 6.

fingertipsjjddm - March 1, 2005 05:27 AM (GMT)
In this day and age?!?!?! You'd be surprised. Having to do with little kids being cool. I babysat the other day and it was a for a 7 year old girl and her 11 year old genius brother. Anway, I had gone to the Here Come the ABC's concert, so I picked her up a pack of the tmbg sock puppet stickers. She was all excited. I had lent her No! a little while ago and she comes running up to tell me she had bought it. It was so great. She was memorizing all the words and everything. It just cracked me up. I seem to being doing an ok job with spreading the TMBG love. She is the 5th official person I have converted. :rocks:

Well done! ^_^

fingertipsjjddm - March 1, 2005 01:50 PM (GMT)
Thanks you.

LoveJohnX2 - March 1, 2005 04:29 PM (GMT)
Most kids I know don't care what other people think until they're atleast 10. Then they start to figure out what's cool and not.

Uh..yeah. I haven't been here in a few days and I can't figure out if this is the only Here Come the ABC's topic or not. It's the only one I saw, but I have more to say on the subject besides "Favorite song" so I'm going to say it now. If all this has been said and/or I'm in the wrong place, you may slap me. But only once and not hard enough to give me a concussion.

NOBODY HAS MENTIONED FLANSY IN A SODA CAN? I think it's great. K only drinks soda..and the soda can happens to say "Flansy". Awww..it also looks like mountain dew. Alot of the animations you can tell are just like the "Damn Good Times" video, and I like it alot. And if for nothing else, the DVD is all worth it to me just to have the "Stalk of Wheat" video, "Fake Believe (type B )" and "Violin". I wonder how often Flansburgh walks around in a bear suit. That may be a everyday thing that they're used to by now.
Oh yeah, and I noticed AJ Shnack directed some of the videos.

Songs Jen™ likes the most:
E eats Everthing
Alphabet Lost and Found
Fake Believe (type B )
D is for Drums!

Songs Jen™ likes the least:
The Vowel Family

Hmm..that seems to be the only song that really irritates me. The rest I can atleast stand.

EDIT: I just found out if I don't leave a space between B and ) when typing "(Type B )" I get B)

fingertipsjjddm - March 1, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
The flansy thing was great. I don't have those three video's you were talking about. Were they on the amazon.com version. I was supposed to be getting that version, but maybe not.

LoveJohnX2 - March 1, 2005 07:39 PM (GMT)
Yes. It was on the Amazon DVD but the bonus songs are listed as "Clap your hands", "Violin", "Stalk of Wheat", and "Here in Higglytown."

fingertipsjjddm - March 2, 2005 12:00 AM (GMT)
I have the clap your hands and higglytown heroes.

mrhorrible - March 12, 2005 01:41 AM (GMT)
OK, I have finally heard a few songs from ABCs. A great improvement on No! in my opinion. I like Go for G, QU and E eats Everything.

I will get my kids to check them out tomorrow. I suspect that they will be very amused, especially my daughter.

fingertipsjjddm - March 12, 2005 07:59 PM (GMT)
Yeah, deffinately a huge improvement from No!

mrhorrible - March 12, 2005 08:26 PM (GMT)
Both my kids laughed a lot at E eats Everything. Then they wanted to do something else.

Small doses I guess.

fingertipsjjddm - March 13, 2005 02:37 PM (GMT)
Yeah, small doses over long periods of time, thats sure to make them dependant on it. Are your kids really young? The kids i babysit who are 4 and 6 love D is for Drums, they make me bring the dvd every time i come over.

tmbg_whoa - March 13, 2005 07:31 PM (GMT)
I love Alphabet of Nations. It's such a fun song. And it's easy to memorize because it's so catchy.

fingertipsjjddm - March 14, 2005 01:40 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that was the first sign I learned.

detroit skaboy - March 30, 2005 02:58 PM (GMT)
ok we got this cd for jacynda for easter
"after ive played it over and over the wife is thinking i got it for me"
overall i like it
some of the songs are kinda the same basically but it is a kids album and my daughter gets a kick out of it tho she is only 16 months she digs good music
the tunes are rather catchy and many have been stuck in my head

fingertipsjjddm - March 30, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
Hahaha, leave it to the spouse to figure our our true intentions

detroit skaboy - March 31, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
lol yea but she was diggin it too :)

gianthead - April 2, 2005 01:03 PM (GMT)
I heard E Eats Everything first time today. LOL ^_^ The kids' stuff is so uncool it rocks!

fingertipsjjddm - April 2, 2005 09:05 PM (GMT)
Haha, we need to start the kids out young. My kid brother got hooked on listening to the Now cd's when he was young and wants nothing to do with any kind of music other than what is played on ther radio or can be heard on MTV

dark and metric - April 22, 2005 04:34 AM (GMT)
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned D, or Flying V, both excellent. (I think it's called D...D, look at D, half a circle, half a morning apple slice....)

Improvement over NO?

What's wrong with NO? I like No, especially Edison Museum, Sleepwalkers, Four of Two, etc.

Johnw - April 22, 2005 07:49 AM (GMT)
Personally I thought No! (the album) was great.... it was just different, but different is OK B)

I have heard Flying V, I like it

You're fun.

*sticks out tongue*

tonebank - April 28, 2005 06:36 PM (GMT)
I love "can you find it?" - its my favourite off that album.... then it would have to be "Who put the Alphabet in Alphabetical order?" and "Alphabet of nations" - though i prefer the live version.

It was great I was babysitting the other day...and we were watching Disney Channel and I was zoning out cause were were watching a REALLY stupid show...and all of a suddenly I hear "They Might Be Giants! Here Come the ABC's!" and I was like..OH MY GOSH (cause I'm not used to hearing them anywere other than my car and my stereo...let alone Disney Channel) and I got really excited (which made the little girl I was babysitting really excited)..and they did the video for "Can You Find It?" and now I loveee that song...It was funny too..cause I had just told them how great TMBG was earlier in the day and that they should check 'em out :D

And thats the end of my story XD

Quite so.

I've never seen them on that Disney station myself, but then again, I rarely watch television (pay attention, I can't), and even when I do, it's not children's programming... So that would have a major effect on my chances of seeing the music videos broadcasted.

fingertipsjjddm - May 4, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
Doodles said it. They play between 8:00 and 9:00 (GMT - 5:00) Most of the primary schools here start at 9:15, so they figure kids will be watching TV waiting for the bus or what not. They are never on i the afternoon.
